Collection of Turgay Sagdic / BRUNSVIGA 11 E
BRUNSVIGA 11 E is a vintage calculator, a very special piece of Turgay Sagdic’s collection, the founder of Yetkin Patent & Consultancy, European Patent Attorney, Certified Public Accountant
Market Introduction : 1952
Creator: Brunsviga-Maschinenwerke, Grimme, Natalis & Co AG, Braunschweig
The 11 E is a simple electrical machine. Usually, the motor speed is controlled via a centrifugal switch on the motor shaft. In this machine, a centrifugal brake is used. Also different from most electrically driven machines is that for subtraction the motor is electrically reversed instead of with a gear system. Some sources state that it was produced until 1955, but in Büromaschinen Lexikon it is mentioned until 1961/1962.
A special feature of the Brunsviga 11 E calculator was its stop division function. This means that the machine automatically stopped when the capacity of the product register was fallen short of when dividing. The problem was rapidly solved by pressing the plus key and the tab key, which allowed the operation to continue.
Mr.Sagdic bought this machine from Ayranci Antique Market, Ankara.
